I was lucky enough to know from a friend that Singapore Airlines is having a promotion for my next annual leave. I am scheduled to fly back home and was able to book a cheap flight with Singapore Airlines. I paid 234 SGD for a round trip ticket with in flight meals and 30 kg baggage. It was indeed a cheap ticket considering that it is with Singapore Airlines, the third best airline of 2016 according to Skytrax.
Two days before the flight, they sent me a SMS regarding my flight and that I am able to do online check in, which I did so that I do not need to queue in the airport. On the day of the flight, I arrived 2 hours earlier in Changi Airport Terminal 2. There are kiosk located in their check in counters where you can complete your check in process by printing out your bag tags and boarding pass. Just provide your booking reference and scan your passport to check in. After which, I dropped off my baggage in their baggage counter. in total, check in was completed in about 10-15 minutes. Inside the airport, its the usual process of going through the passport scans and thumbprints. Fast forward to boarding time, the boarding pass provided has a group number which they will announce which made going inside the Boeing 777 airplane a breeze. Inside the plane, each seat is very spacious; a small lcd (for inflight entertainment), a small pillow and foot rest is provided.

Once I was seated, the stewardess handed out warm towels which helped me relaxed. The seat was very comfortable and the leg space is big enough that your feet won't be cramped even after a long journey.

Of course, I had to take a selfie.

I guess when it comes to your in flight experience size does matter because I did not feel anything during take off unlike when I ride a smaller plane. They gave out their menu before serving their food and they gave you the option to choose between 2 main dishes. Their food taste great and they used metal utensils which is a first for me since other airlines will usually give you plastic utensils.

The toilets are quite big and you won't have to wait for your turn as there are about 5 toilets inside (I forgot to count). The flight went very smoothly and I was comfortable in my seat.

The only downside was the terminal of SIA in the Philippines which is in Terminal 3, will greet you with traffic. If you need a cab, you will have to line up with all your bags for about 1 hour plus as the lines are usually very long. But then again, there is nothing new with traffic when you are in the Philippines.

Due to the traffic, my father had to rest for a while as it took us about 2 hours to reach home. We passed by a row of food stalls where we bought some bbq before heading home.

Overall, the Singapore Airlines experience was one for the books. It was indeed a pleasant journey which I would like to have again if given the chance. However, the traffic in terminal 3 makes me think twice of going back to the Philippines via SIA. Maybe if I will travel to another country and there is another seat sale, I would definitely grab a chance to travel with one of the best.
